PGMA visits Dumguete City… really?

April 23, 2008

President Gloria Arroyo will be coming over to Dumaguete City on Friday, April 25, 2008 to attend the 88th birthday of the former Negros Oriental 3rd District representative, Herminio Teves. City officials are now preparing for her arrival. But concern arises with regards to solving  the problems evident on the port area…

Oh well, can’t go on further. Sorry… that’s all I know as far as news is concerned… hehehe!!! And I’m really not good in straight news. So there, now you know… hehehe!!!

Anyways, I was a bit shocked about this. The thought bogs me. Just goes to show how ignorant I am with politics. But how close really is Teves and PGMA? Do they have that very strong political bond that going down here to Dumaguete City for a birthday celebration seems easy and "grand" for a President? Or am I just missing more than half of what is really the purpose of her coming?

I hope the presence of President Arroyo here in the City of Gentle People will bring good news to everyone.

Nothing unusual for Arroyo to waste her time and money. It would be better for her political image to come and visit to see how Dumaguete is going on the 21st century. Or If I was to let her off the hook– I would take a good guess, “self important” politicians–making use of her visit as a sort of personal matter that must take place…use the media to advertise how important he/she is b-day celebrant “the president” has come to attend my birthday. Which do you think is the best answer?
